$1,381,147.10 jackpot awarded in Saskatoon!
Saskatoon, SK – Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) is pleased to announce a Vault Breaker jackpot prize awarded by the Saskatchewan VLT program. Jason Banman of Saskatoon was awarded $1,381,147.10 after winning the grand jackpot on Vault Breaker at Dublin’s Irish Pub in Saskatoon on June 2.
Banman’s win almost didn’t happen. The Saskatoon local had been flower shopping with his wife when they decided to stop at Dublin’s Irish Pub.
“We weren’t going to stop at first, but decided we’d make a quick stop and see how the Vault Breaker was doing,” he explained. “When the icons came up on my machine, I yelled for my wife and joked for her to get her camera ready – I thought it would maybe be the minor jackpot.”
“I was more composed than my wife [when we saw the amount],” he continued, laughing. “But I did have to ask the waitress to write my name on the ticket because my hands were shaking so much!”
Banman said he and his wife have a couple ideas for their recent win.
“It was an instant relief – we’ll pay off all of our bills and have total freedom,” he said. “We want to make sure we invest wisely.”
“We also have a trip to Mexico booked for Christmas,” he continued. “This will help with that.”
Vault Breaker is a wide-area progressive that links 4,200 VLTs located in approximately 570 sites in 270 communities across the province. There are three mystery jackpot tiers: the province-wide grand jackpot has a minimum value of $500,000 and pays out before it hits $1.5 million, the regional major jackpot has a minimum value of $5,000 and pays out before it hits $25,000, and the local site jackpot minimum is $100 and pays out before hitting $500. Any of the three jackpot tiers can be awarded when a patron plays Vault Breaker.
